Louis Desgroseilliers, MASc, BEng
PhD Candidate
Louis is pursuing his PhD in Mechanical Engineering. His area of work is supercooled salt hydrates for long term thermal storage.
His reserach work is supported by NSERC through the CGSD sholarship program; Louis is also a DREAMS scholar.
The LAMTE is led by Dr. Dominic Groulx as the principal investigator. The research team is composed of a hard working and dedicated group of young researchers, both at the undergraduate level and at the graduate level (MASc and PhD); from various background: mechanical, chemical, nuclear engineering, as well as physics and chemitry.

The alumni who have previously worked at the LAMTE, of which we are extremely proud and thankful for their work and expertise, are now sought after engineers and researchers, all over the world, in the areas of thermal/fluid engineering, renewable and non-renewable energy, building engineering or in general research positions, both private and in academia.

The LAMTE also collaborates with researchers from all over the world, some of those associates, are also presented below.

Principal Investigator
Laura Dodsworth, BEng
MASc Candidate
Laura is pursuing her MASc in Mechanical Engineering after having obtained her BEng in Nuclear Engineering from UOIT. Her work focus on the testing and development of a Tesla pump supported by Raytheon USA.
Moe Kabbara, BEng
PhD Candidate
Moe is pursuing his PhD in Mechanical Engineering, recipient of a Nova Scotia Graduate Scholarship and being a DREAMS student. His work is focused on the thermal and energy analysis and optimization of large electronic enclosures; work which is supported by Raytheon Canada.
Benjamin Sponagle, MASc, BEng
PhD Candidate
Ben is pursuing his PhD in Mechanical Engineering. His area of research is thermal control of electronic components using phase change materials. His research work is supported through a research contract with Intel.
Luke Halliburton
Undergraduate Researcher
Luke is an undergraduate mechanical engineering student, ready to start his senior year. His work at the LAMTE, in collaboration with Raytheon, is focus on the modification of a testing apparatus for thermal interface materials; and subsequent testing of those materials at various applied pressures and external temperatures. Luke is also a DREAMS intern
Florent Herbinger
Undergraduate Researcher
Florent is a physics undergraduate student who received the Joy M. Cunningham Research Award to support his work at the LAMTE. He is involved a numerical study looking at the impact of strategically positioned phase change materials in office space for temperature control. Work done through an ENGAGE grant with Internat Energy Solutions.
